Le Gouvernement congolais attend d’abord du Canada d’être le porte-voix de la RDC dans le processus de pacification de sa partie Est du pays, a affirmee la Première ministre Judith Suminwa, lundi 18 novembre à Ottawa. La cheffe de l’exécutif congolais a fait part de son regret sur l’absence de sincérité du régime rwandais dans les discussions relatives au processus de Luanda, indique une dépêche de la Primature.
Judith Suminwa l’a déclaré lorsqu’elle recevait en audience, ce même lundi à Ottawa où elle séjourne, le ministre canadien du Développement international, Ahmed Hussen. Les échanges entre les deux personnalités ont essentiellement porté sur la diplomatie et la coopération bilatérale.
Pour Mme Suminwa, Kigali et ses supplétifs du M23 ne respectent aucune recommandation, en particulier le cessez-le-feu et le retrait de leurs troupes du territoire congolais.
Respect de l’intégrité territoriale
Le ministre canadien remercié la Première ministre congolaise pour sa présence au Canada, à l’occasion du forum sur l’accélération du rythme de développement de l’Afrique. Son pays entend renforcer sa coopération avec la RDC, lui a-t-il fait savoir, notamment dans les domaines de l’humanitaire, l’éducation, la santé.
La formation professionnelle et technologique, le genre et la lutte contre les violences faites à la femme, mais aussi dans le secteur économique s’ajoutent à ces domaines.
Le Gouvernement canadien plaise pour le respect de l’intégrité territoriale de la RDC.
Pour Ahmed Hussen, la position de son Gouvernement est claire à ce sujet : le Canada appelle au respect de l’intégrité territoriale de la RDC et est contre toute forme de recours à la violence.
Au cours de cette séance, le ministre canadien a voulu s’enquérir de l’évolution de la situation sur le terrain. Il s’est dit favorable à un retour rapide de la paix dans cette région, en vue de penser aux questions de développement.
